Focused Improvement Consulting has developed a unique proprietary system for achieving sustainable operations excellence. This is the Focused Improvement System for operations excellence.

This system is built upon a foundation of Lean Six Sigma methodology and allows a company to build a sustainable culture of continuous improvement. We guide our clients in moving through the different stages of this model by working with them shoulder to shoulder, building employee engagement and implementing best in class industry practices.

There are 4 stages of the Focused Improvement System for operations excellence:

Bronze Stage

The focus of the bronze stage is on establishing a performance baseline and building awareness within employees for a need to change.  To achieve this higher level of understanding, continuous improvement tools such as 5S, visual factory, scorecards, process mapping and others all help to employees “see the process” from a customer’s point of view.

Silver Stage

The focus of the silver stage is on sustaining the organized workplace and increasing employee involvement/participation in the understand the process and improvements. At this stage, we begin to see tangible process improvements and savings.

Gold Stage

At the gold stage, the focus is on standardizing processes and driving employee-led process improvement.  In the gold stage, the employees focus on the tougher projects which lead to significant improvements.  Statistically, the process is now moving towards (short term) “6 Sigma”.  At this we have begun developing skills within your employees for sustainable growth and FIC starts to take a step back, empowering your employees to take ownership of the process going forward.

Platinum Stage

At the platinum stage, the focus is on getting employees is to institutionalize innovation and implement best in class industry practices. By entrenching a culture of continuous improvement and innovation world-class operations excellence, the company can achieve and sustain a leadership position.
